After places like New York, Colombia and Turkey, ropeways are all set to be the next travelling medium for Mumbaikars.

On Monday, July 8, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) held a meeting along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis where a ₹35,000 crore project was approved to provide last-mile connectivity via a ropeway from Metro rail stations.

The Metro-2A (Dahisar-DN Nagar) project will be connecting Borivali to Malad which will further have ropeway links to Gorai and Marve respectively. This will thus provide east-west connectivity. The ropeway will be 4.5 km long and will have several stations in between to halt.

Talking about the project, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said that constructing metro corridors isn't just about providing transport, it's about giving the commuters a complete experience with the last-mile connectivity.
