The BMC has decided to change the face of the CST subways by replacing the current roofing with polycarbonate roofing at the entries and exits of the subway into transparent tough glass coverings. When Mumbai Live spoke to the Award’s assistant commissioner Kiran Dighavkar who said tenders have been called for the same. He added that he is also planning to put a map at the entry and exit of the subway. The estimated cost of the project would be Rs. 2.5 crores and is said to be completed in six months.


Along with this, BMC has already called tenders for constructing a viewing gallery opposite to CST as it is one of the most photographed structures. The estimated cost of the project would be Rs. 96 lakhs. This viewing gallery will come up one of the pedestrian subways from where people will be able to click photos of CST and BMC building.
