The Matunga West footover bridge (FOB) has been shut down for public use by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday. The bridge connects the Matunga Western Railway station with the other side of the road opposite to the station. The bridge was allegedly tilting down and was hazardous for pedestrians due to which it was shut down.
The bridge was used by people to commute from Matunga West to Matunga Western Railway station. However, one of the pillars of the bridge was crumbling which led to inclination and tilting of the bridge. Later, the locals complained to the officials of BMC’s G-North Ward.
