Cracks on the raiway tracks disrupted local services on the Western Railway at peak office hours on Friday morning.

The disrupted services are now slowly limping back to normal, we learn. The tracks between Goregaon and Malad, which had developed cracks, are now getting repaired.

Currently, trains running from Churchgate towards Borivali are running an estimated 25 to 30 minutes late. A huge crowd of office goers were stranded at Borivali this morning since no locals could leave the station.

The impasse at Borivali affected passenger traffic at all subsequent stations towards Churchgate. At the time of going to press, all suburban Western Railway stations are reporting huge crowds, waiting for the next local.
