Every single day, ticket checkers (TC) catch hold of ticket-less travellers and collect a fine on all three lines i.e. Western, Central and Harbour. Mumbaikars thought this will not be the same while travelling in the AC local and a lot of people opted for ticket-less travelling owing to the expensive fare. After commuting in the AC local without a ticket, 11 commuters had to pay the price of the same.
TC took action against 11 such commuters and collected a fine of ₹4,145.
It has been two days, yet, there is a lot of confusion among commuters regarding the fares. Because of which, many opted to travel without a ticket.
On the second day, around 2,091 commuters travelled in the AC local which profited the railways with ₹98,940.
