Western Railway has decided to renumber the platforms at Virar station for the convenience of commuters. The renumbering and change will be effective from the midnight of 12 and 13 August. Prior to this, WR had renumbered and changed the platforms at Borivali and Andheri.This is been done avoid the late minute rush and for the convenience of the passengers. Also, the platforms will be numbered from west to east to maintain the uniformity. WR has asked passengers not to get confused as the train operations will be the same, only the platform numbers will change."
