In collaboration with a paint company, the St+Art foundation has carried out beautification at Mahim railway station on the western line. A wall has been painted with murals of the frontline workers who risk their lives each day to serve in the essential sector.

Since the coronavirus outbreak started across the world, the essential workers -  from healthcare background to delivery persons - everyone is serving while putting their lives at risk. The St+Art has painted Murals at Mahim railway station to pay tribute to the courage of these workers.

While most of us have been sitting at home, the nurses and doctors are working day and night to treat COVID-19 patients. Moreover, the sanitation workers, police, BEST employees and staffers in other essential sectors have not failed to serve our needs even during a pandemic.

Under the title ‘The Heroes of Mumbai’ - the doctors, nurses, vegetable vendors, delivery persons, sanitation workers, among others have been featured on the wall. The artist says that the painting took nearly 10-12 days to finish but pays tribute to the frontline warriors who have been serving us tirelessly.

As of June 17, nearly 3,752 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra, taking the state’s tally to 1,20,504. The death toll in Maharashtra has touched 5,751. In Mumbai alone, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 62,875 while the death toll has risen to 3,311.
