In a significant development, it has come to light that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Mumbai-Kolhapur Vande Bharat Express on December 17.

This was announced by the BJP MP Sanjaykaka Patil and Dhananjay Mahadik after they met Raosaheb Danve, the minister of state for railways, on Wednesday morning, December 14.

Additionally, BJP MPs as well as NCP’s Satara MP Shriniwas Patil have demanded stops for the proposed Vande Bharat Express trains at Sangli and Karad. The stoppage of Vande Bharat Express will be beneficial for both the railways and the passengers. This will also help boost the trade, they added.

Moreover, 10 new Vande Bharat trains will soon be launched across the nation. One of which will be introduced on the Secunderabad – Pune route, this is expected to be one of the busiest routes. Beyond that, the other trains are going to be Madgaon-Mangalore, Delhi-Amritsar, Indore-Surat, Mumbai-Jalna, Pune-Vadodara, Tatanagar-Varanasi and Varanasi-Lucknow, Patna-Jalpaiguri sections.

Senior railway officials have announced that final touches are being made to the Mumbai-Jalna Vande Bharat Express schedule and the final schedule is to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that the first Vande Bharat train was introduced between Varanasi and New Delhi on February 15, 2019. Lakhs of passengers on this route have benefited from this railway. Now it is being said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can start another Vande Bharat train on the same route.
