An artist from Maharashtra’s Thane has made the world’s largest 30-40 feet long mosaic portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to mark his Jayanti, which is on February 19. This magnificent portrait is open for viewing for the next two days, i.e on February 19 and 20.

In Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan at Jambhli Naka, Thane, 10 youths have worked tirelessly for two days to make this portrait of Shivaji Maharaj. This magnificent portrait has been made by the members Sakal Maratha Sanstha.

Chetan Raut has used 50,000 earthen lamps and 48 hours of work to make this portrait. It has green, black, blue, red, white and yellow lights. Chetan wants to spread Shivaji’s thoughts to people. The Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Maratha king Shivaji. Shivaji Maharaj stood up against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The king is known as one of the bravest rulers of India.

The administration has requested the citizens and worshippers of Maharaj to take a look of the portrait from 20 feet away. Moreover, the organizers have also appealed to wear masks and follow the social distancing norms while entering the premises.
