Philanthropist, renowned author and founder of Infosys Foundation, Sudha Murty is all set to write a series of 3 books- 'The Gopi Diaries' which will be published by Harper Collins India. Padma Shri awardee and writer of Here, There and Everywhere and Three Thousand Stitches, Sudha Murty said that it is her first book with the publisher and for the first time she'll be writing for youngsters specifically animal lovers.

Talking about the series Sudha Murty said that it's based on her dog Gopi who has been a bundle of joy in her life. Told in Sudha Murty’s inimitable style, these are books children and adults will treasure as the simple stories talk of basic values even when told from a dog’s perspective. Being an animal lover herself, the story is bound to be as charming as it gets. 

A prolific writer in English and Kannada, Sudha Murty has written novels, technical books, travelogues, collections of short stories and non-fiction pieces, and eight bestselling books for children. Her books have been translated into all major Indian languages. She is the recipient of the R.K. Narayan Award for Literature (2006), the Padma Shri (2006), the Attimabbe Award from the Government of Karnataka for excellence in Kannada literature (2011) and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Crossword Book Awards.
