Recently, on October 28, while performing at Sarusajai stadium in Guwahati, famous Bollywood singer Shaan was pelted with paper balls and pebbles after he started singing a Bengali song.

Some people who were present at the event started shouting, "This is Assam and not Bengal" and started throwing stones at the singer. Replying to the mob, Shaan said "Don't make this political. Never do this with an artiste." After the incident, Shaan walked off to the backstage. After which a member of the concert informed the media that he came onto the stage on the organiser's request.

Later, Shaan took to Twitter and wrote to a fan,"Just for the records ...loved my Assam Tour!! Saw the most fascinating sights...made new friends..had huge turnouts at every concert. Over one unfortunate incident, it would be very wrong to Tarnish this Beautifull State!!! Whatever happened was in the heat of the moment”, commented Shaan.
