Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is known for his association with Paani Foundation. Over the last many years, he has worked hard to ensure the foundation strives for the betterment of people and the community. In a recent development, the team has grown a small forest-like area on barren land.

Over two years back, in September 2018, the team at Paani Foundation embarked on its an ambitious journey, with a focus to turn a piece of barren land into a forest. This experimental mission was taken ahead keeping great Japanese ecologist Akira Miyawaki's method in mind, along with an environmental trust, and today, over two years later, in September 2020, the project has been shown successful results.

As planned, the foundation planted 2000 saplings in collaboration with the villagers of Satara District, Maharashtra. The tree species were carefully selected with a mix to create a forest-like appearance and the plantation was given detailed attention so that they could grow at a rapid pace. The end result has been tremendous and something to be proud of as there are now extremely dense forest-like with healthy trees which have become a habitat for small animals, insects and much more.

Actor Aamir Khan took to Instagram to share the video with a message that said, "Really proud of this experiment done by the team. Please watch and give me your reactions. Love - a."

The team comprising of Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and others at the Pani Foundation has been involved in water conservation activities in and around Maharashtra for the last several years. The incredible time and efforts of the foundation have enabled them to transform human, plant and animal life harmoniously.

On the film front, Aamir Khan will soon be seen in the Hindi adaptation of Tom Hanks' film Forrest Gump. The film is expected to release in 2021 and is directed by Advait Chandan. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Laal Singh Chaddha stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Sethupati, Mona Singh and others. The filming began in 2019, and the team has shot in more than 100 locations so far. It was expected to release in 2020, however, the team has decided to postpone the same.
