Actor Asif Basra is a well-known face in the Bollywood circuit was found dead in McLodganj in Dharamshala. He had been living in this rented accommodation for 5 years.
Asif was last seen in the web series Hostages 2 which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. On Thursday, he was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala. The forensic team is at the spot and police is investigating the matter, SSP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan told news agencies. It is suspected that the actor committed suicide.
The 53-year old actor was a part of movies like Black Friday, Parzania, Outsourced, Jab We Met, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Kai Po Che, Krrish 3, Ek Villain, Kaalakaandi and Hichki. He also starred in foreign productions like Quicksand and Outsourced, apart from playing a cameo in One Night with the King.
Filmamker Hansal Mehta has expressed his shock over Bara's death. Taking to Twitter he said, "Asif Basra! Can't be true..This is just very, very sad."
