2019 has been a good year for films so far, as some of the releases like Gully Boy, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Kalank and others have made a collection exceeding hundreds of crores. But the year isn't over yet for the industry, as the second half of 2019 looks even more promising. With big-budget releases, fans would have enough number of films to watch in the remaining months. Here are some of the film, which we believe would make a mark.

Mission Mangal (August 15, 2019)

Touted as a big release this Independence Day, Mission Mangal will take us closer to the journey of how the scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully planned and executed India's first interplanetary expedition, the Mars Orbiter Mission. Starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, and many others, the film is directed by Jagan Shakti and jointly produced by Akshay Kumar, R. Balki, Aruna Bhatia, and Anil Naidu.


Batla House (August 15, 2019)

Over the last few years, John Abraham has given us some interesting patriotic films like Parmanu and Satyamev Jayate. The audience and the critics have applauded his efforts, and the results are clear with the Box Office collections. This Independence Day, he is back with yet another film titled Batla House. The film revolves around Delhi’s controversial encounter operation which happened in 2008.


Saaho (August 30, 2019)

After delivering success with Bahubali, popular actor Prabhas was gearing up for his upcoming release, Saaho. Written and directed by Sujeeth, the film has been shot in three languages simultaneously and also marks Shraddha Kapoor's debut in South Indian cinema. Besides these two, the film boasts of a stellar cast which includes Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chunky Pandey, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar among others, and has been made at a massive budget of ₹300 crore.


Laal Kaptaan (September 06, 2019)

Written and directed by Navdeep Singh, Laal Kaptaan is said to be a revenge drama with Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. The first poster of this film garnered a lot of attention, as we saw a hint of his character as a naga sadhu. Khan was seen sporting a man bun with a big red tilak and intense eyes. Produced by Aanand L Rai and Sunil Lulla, the film has raised anticipation, however, not a lot has been revealed about the release date or the story.


Jhund (September 20, 2019)

The announcement of Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund was made long back, where it was announced that the film will star legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. Based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, this biographical sports-drama will revolve around Barse’s life where he has motivated street children to play soccer. Produced by T-Series, Tandav Films and Aatpat Productions, the first look of the film was released early this year, and will also star Sairat duo Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru.

WAR (October 02, 2019)

Recently released teaser of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer action film ‘WAR’ has been loved by the audience, and fans have shared their views on the same. Touted to be one of the biggest releases of 2019, WAR will also star Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles and will have action sequences choreographed by renowned experts from Hollywood and Korea. Directed by Siddharth Anand, this film is expected to release on October 2, 2019.


The Sky is Pink (October 11, 2019)

Directed by Shonali Bose and produced under RSVP Movies, Roy Kapur Films and Purple Pebble Pictures, The Sky is Pink, is a biography starring Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. The first look of this film was released in July 2019, and it was also announced that The Sky Is Pink will be the only Asian film to premiere at the 44th TIFF. The film is a love story narrated by the couple’s spunky teenage daughter, Aisha Chaudhary, played by Zaira Wasim.


Saandh Ki Aankh (October 30, 2019)

Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles, Saandh Ki Aankh is a biopic on sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the first look of the film was released during Holi this year, giving us a flavor of what both the ladies will deliver on-screen. The film has been shot in Baghpat, Hastinapur, and Mawana, and both the actresses were trained for using air pistols and rifles. With an expected release date of October 25, 2019, the film will also star Vineet Kumar Singh in a pivotal role.


Dabangg 3 (To be announced)

After two successful films, Khan brothers – Salman and Arbaaz, are all set to entertain the fans with Dabangg 3. Directed by Prabhu Deva and written by Dilip Shukla, the film is set in Madhya Pradesh and will once again star Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. Besides them, popular actors Sudeep and Mahie Gill have also joined the cast for this sequel. Earlier it was announced that the film would release in 2020, but, the director later preponed the date to December 2019. However, no announcements regarding the film have been made yet.
