Randeep Hooda is flying high this year. He made his Hollywood debut movie Extraction and it has gone on to become break records on the streaming platforms. He was always known to be a thinking actor and the one to take up meaningful roles and the recent success of the movie Extraction has made the whole world and not just Bollywood take up and notice the actor.

However, the sailing has not been completely smooth for Hooda. While critics and viewers have always complemented Hooda for his acting but his journey in Bollywood has been filled with ups and downs. In a recent interview talking about his success in Extraction Hooda said, “. I'm going about what I've always done, I've gone about the way I love to work and my love for my work and life”. He also mentioned that the success that he is now got with Extraction is “probably universe's way of giving me a big film after I waited on to do another big film and which could not be completed”.

For those unaware Randeep had devoted four years to Saragarhi and the movie could never be completed. He mentioned that he waited till the very last moment for this movie to work out. For the movie Extraction, the makers wanted to try a new look but Randeep wanted to retain the look that was not too different from the one that he was sporting in Saragarhi so in case the movie resumes then he could get a beard and finish it off.

Randeep also shared that he was really heartbroken that the movie did not come out as he really wanted the audience to see the same. As a matter of fact, Randeep had taken a pledge in front of the Guru Granth Sahib in Golden Temple that he will not cut his long hair that he had grown for the movie till this movie reaches its conclusion. “When I got offered this role in Extraction, I did this audition still hoping that Saragarhi goes on, but it was a very hard decision for me to take off my hair... Kesh Katana. So I went to the Gurdwara here, and I apologised and I said, I have to work. You know, I have to keep working. I mean my job is such that it is a performing art. And if I don't perform and you know, something inside me will die. And I apologised, and I came home and I cut off my beard, and with a very heavy heart, crying I cut off my beard and, I just had to kind of move on by putting an end to it”.

Apart from being a great actor, Randeep is also known to be a big voice for environmental issues. Recently, he was seen in a viral video, cleaning the Versova beach with his bare hands along with activist Afroz Shah. We could not help but ask Randeep if there are any other environmental issues that he thinks Mumbaikars should focus on and he says, “Since we have all been in this pandemic, we've stuck at home and we've been seeing how nature has been thriving without us. And it is healing. The skies are cleaner. The Greens are greener. The air is fresher. One person or a group of people cannot change the world but if we all come together, we can bring about a change. Simple things like don't let the tap running when you're brushing your teeth or while shaving or when scrubbing your hands. Don't buy bottled water. These water companies don't sell you water, they sell you plastic”.

He also stressed on the fact that one should buy bigger packs and go back to the older means of more sustainable living. He mentioned on the age-old practice of using reusable things.
