The second wave of coronavirus has impacted many celebrities and the news of them testing positive have made headlines. On Sunday, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar announced that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He also mentioned that he has isolated himself.

The news was shared by Akshay via his Twitter handle. He tweeted, "I wish to inform everyone that earlier this morning I tested positive for Covid-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action soon".

Ever since the news broke, he was flooded with messages of Get well soon. 

Akshay Kumar has been shooting for his next movie  "Ram Setu". On Tuesday the actor had shared the first look from the movie and also revealed that he will be will be playing an archaeologist in this film. 

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. After Akshay tested positive, the shoot for Ram Setu has been halted. As per a report in The Times of India, the shoot of ‘Ram Setu’ was scheduled till April 9. It also goes on to add that a massive set has been erected in Madh Island for the shoot of this movie and it will remain redundant for some time now. The team of ‘Ram Setu’ was to then travel out of Mumbai for another schedule, but that will also have to be re-worked now.

Akshay is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood. He had just wrapped the movie  Atrangi Re last weekend and hopped on to Ram Setu.

In the past few weeks, many actors such as Alia Bhatt, Govinda, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kaartik Aaryan have tested positive for COVID-19.
