Bollywood actress Arya Banerjee was found dead in her Kolkata apartment on Friday, police said. The actress had left quite a mark in her performance 'The Dirty Picture' as Shakeela She also a part of Love Sex Aur Dhokha that released in 2010 and was directed by Dibakar Banerjee.
Arya was the daughter of late sitarist Pandit Nikhil Banerjee and she had a masters degree in classical music. It is said that her real name was Devdutta Banerjee and Arya was just a screen name.
Before making a mark in acting Arya also took some modelling assignment.
According to neighbours Arya kept to herself and lived with her pet dog. Her sister lives in Singapore. It was the maid that got suspicious and called the cops when Arya did not open the door despite repeatedly ringing the bell and did not even answer the calls.
The police broke open the door of her third-floor apartment and found that the body lying in the bedroom. Reportedly, forensic experts found that she was bleeding from the nose and had vomited before the death.
