The handsome hunk of the tinsel town Vibhav Roy, who was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus 'Padmaavat' as Itaat Khan will be seen portraying a thoughtful role in the upcoming movie ‘Lashtam Pashtam’.The film is about two friends based in Dubai where one is Pakistani and the other is an Indian and how differences and misunderstandings creep in between them. It conveys a message that friendship transcends beyond borders and differences.

Vibhav will be seen essaying the character of Fahad, who is a very sensitive and restrained person. In an exclusive interaction with Mumbai Live, Vibhav Roy spoke about the film ‘Lashtam Pashtam’, and also share his experiences while shooting for it.

Your thought behind taking up the project
"When I was approached for the film, Manav sir (Producer) was the person who auditioned me and pitched me the narrative. There was so much passion and enthusiasm inside him, that it was contagious. The only reason I came on board was Manav sir and also I share a lot with him as he too, is from the corporate sector like me. Generally, I meet people who are not on the same page but with him, we were on the same page from day one. The vision in the way I see my character and the way he sees it is completely in alignment. I usually take up a character that is adding weight to the screenplay like even in Padmaavat, my character was small but it had a story of its own."

Experience of working with late actor Om Puri
"I have a couple of scenes with him, but what I remember is that he was so supportive. He was the most relaxed person on set. He just reinstated the belief that you will be able to bring out the best as an actor only if you're relaxed. There is no point going mad. Your senses are only active if you are relaxed that’s what I have learnt from him."

Any personal experience you would like to share which is similar to ‘Lashtam Pashtam’
"I have lived in Melbourne for seven years, I had a lot of Pakistani friends and they were my closest friends from the subcontinent. There was a sense of unity and harmony among all of us. We used to cook together, play cricket in Melbourne. So Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in one team and the Aussies in one team, we used to call our teams Desi Vs Australians. These are the fond memories which I cherish."

Coming back to fictional space
"I never say never to be very honest, however, I have some more stuff lined up after this and I take it as it comes. I am not a trained actor, I have always learned it on the job, TV was my on-the-job training which paid very well. I am just going to follow interesting subjects and stories wherever they take me in future."

Digital space
"There are a couple of web series I am doing in the future. The digital medium is liberating, there is no censor, no limitation on the creativity. It’s a wonderful development and I hope more power to it."

Lashtham Pastham is all set to hit the theatres on August 10, 2018.
