Akshay Kumar's fans will have to wait longer as the release of his upcoming film 'Sooryavanshi' has been postponed keeping the coronavirus outbreak in mind.
The new release date of the film has not been announced yet. The team recently shared the news on social media with a message, which read "Sooryavanshi' is an experience that we have created for you with over a year of dedication and hard work. And the response we received for its trailer was nothing less than electrifying and made it clear that this film truly belongs to its audience."
"We have been as excited as you are to present the film to you and your family, but due to recent outburst of coronavirus, we, the makers, have decided to postpone the release of your film ‘Sooryavanshi', keeping in mind the health and safety of our audience. And therefore, ‘Sooryavanshi' will be back for you just when the time is right. After all, safety comes first… Until then, keep the excitement alive, take care of yourself and stay strong," the statement added.
In this new release of Rohit Shetty's franchise, Akshay Kumar will be seen as Veer Sooryavanshi, an ATS officer who is on a lookout for terrorists. Sooryavanshi will also see cops from previous films, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, in cameos, who will help Veer during the operation.
Mumbai Live spoke to Trade Analyst, Girish Johar, who said, "Delhi is one of the topmost revenue earners in the country. So this would definitely come as a major jolt and will impact the business of Baaghi 3 and Angerzi. With this, the release date for Sooryavanshi may also be moved. They were thinking about absorbing the impact of international box office but now with Delhi being shut, the producers might have to rethink the date."
Presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Rohit Shetty, Karan Johar and Cape of Good Film, Sooryavanshi will now release on a later date.
