Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer; to continue treatment in the US

Credible sources associated with Mumbai Live have confirmed that Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer and will continue the treatment in the US. He was admitted at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on August 8, 2020.

2020 has been a year for challenges and several bad news, especially for film fraternity and ardent fans of cinema. While several celebrities passed away this year, many were hospitalised either for coronavirus or other ailments. Recently, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was admitted at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital after reporting breathlessness. He took to Twitter to share the information regarding his health.

However, credible sources associated with Mumbai Live have confirmed that the actor has been diagnosed with lung cancer. While he has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital, reports state that he will continue the treatment in the US, and will spend the next months there. 

We spoke to renowned Pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parkar from Lilavati Hospital, who confirmed that over the last few days, Sanjay Dutt was receiving treatment under his observation. However, he refused to comment about Sanjay Dutt's cancer diagnosis. 

Initially, doctors tested him for coronavirus and his reports were negative. He was in the ICU, under observation. for two days (until August 10) and was discharged later. He took to social media to announce a break from films, and wrote, "Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon."

Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata and kids are in Dubai, and he celebrated his 61st birthday in Mumbai, away from the family. He was last seen in Ashutosh Gowarikar's film Panipat, and will soon be seen in Sadak 2, alongside Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and others.
