As per reports, on Wednesday, January 13, Actor Sonu Sood met NCP chief Sharad Pawar at the latter's residence in Mumbai.

The reason behind the meeting is not known, however, this comes amidst the actor being at odds with the civic body of Mumbai, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The BMC had earlier issued notice to the actor for allegedly carrying out structural changes to a residential building in suburban Juhu without permission. According to the civic body, the six-storey residential building in Juhu has been converted into a hotel without the required permits.

However, last week Sood approached the Bombay High Court as he challenged the notice issued against him by the BMC in October 2020. He was further served with an order passed by a civil court in December dismissing his suit against the action taken by the BMC. Meanwhile, earlier on January 11, the Bombay High Court extended a civil court order till January 13 to Bollywood actor Sonu Sood.

The civil court, while dismissing the suit, had granted three weeks’ time to Sood to file an appeal and stayed its order, thus granting relief to the actor. On Monday, BMC's counsel Anik Sakhare sought time to respond to the actor's petition. Sood's advocate Amogh Singh then sought interim protection and a direction to the civic body to not take any coercive action.

The actor known for his roles in films like Dabangg, Jodha Akbar and Simmba, came into the spotlight last year for his philanthropy work in helping migrants reach their homes during the lockdown amidst the outbreak of the coronavirus.
