Mumbai, as right as it is known as the land of dreams, has also been one of the prime tourist destinations for those who are fascinated by the world of cinema and film-makers. Along with being the financial capital, it is also the entertainment capital of India. In order to boost tourism in Mumbai, the Maharashtra Developmental Plan will ensure several changes in the Bandra-Juhu premises. State Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal spoke about this scheme in the legislative assembly.

Rawal said that as Bollywood is the cherished history of Mumbai, the common man should be invoked about the cultural heritage the city possesses. He told that Mumbai should be developed as the tourism hub for this purpose. An important addition to be made in the buildout plan is launching a Bollywood museum. Andheri MLA Ameet Satam has proposed building a museum dedicated to actor Amitabh Bachchan in Juhu.

In the museum, there will be memoirs of veteran actors in the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. The visitors will also be informed about the life journeys and works of various prominent artists like Rafi, Kishore Kumar. An exhibition of clothes and costumes worn by the actors in the cinema of the by-gone era will also be a part of the museum.
