Many have been wondering about Ayushmann Khurrana's conviction with his work, as the man has delivered phenomenal characters over the years. He was recently felicitated with the coveted national award for his work in Andhadhun. Besides this, Ayushmann's character in Anubhav Sinha's Article 15 was also appreciated, and to surprise the fans, he is back again with a different character this time in Raaj Shaanilyaa's Dream Girl.

Often we come across people who use the other gender's voice to communicate and get out of a bizarre scenario. Taking this concept, and giving his own fiction spin is Raaj, who presents this unusual comedy with Ayushmann and Nushrat in lead characters. In a recently held event in Mumbai, the team was present to launch the trailer of the film.

Sharing his happiness about winning the National award, Ayushmann said, "It has been a very long and fruitful journey, from radio to now films. Winning a national award is in the bucket list of every actor, and one wins when they are not expecting it at all. I thought of winning a national award during my first film, Vicky Donor, but here I'm. Today, I don't do my work with this intent and do it because I love what I do."

Talking about his film and playing a dream girl, he said, "When I heard the script, I took some hours to tell them a yes, but I did not want anyone else to do it. So I called Ruchika Kapoor and told her that it has blockbuster written all over it. It is a commercial film for me, and having to do this, is not a bad thing. I wanted to take my career in a different territory, and this film would help me in that direction."

Adding more to it, Ekta Kapoor said, "When I heard the script, I was laughing hard. We needed one actor who would work hard and be comfortable with voice modulations. Then we thought of Ayushmann because he isn't an actor who will look at any other factor of a film, as much as the content. We knew that he will find himself the ability to find the character in himself - he is a talented man to be a woman."

Besides Ayushmann and Nushrat, the film stars Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee and others in pivotal roles. Dream Girl will release on September 13, 2019.
