Maharashtra: State's first 'Udyog Ratna' given to Ratan Tata at his residence

The 'Maharashtra Industry Awards' instituted by the Industry Department of Government of Maharashtra from this year, were presented by Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais  at the Jio World Convention Center, BKC Mumbai.


The awards were presented ceremoniously in presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, Principal Secretary Industries Harshdeep Kamble and MIDC CEO Vipin Sharma were present.


The state's first 'Udyog Ratna', the highest award, was given to Tata group patriarch Ratan Tata at his residence.  On behalf of Shri Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Group N. Chandrasekharan was presented a memento of the Udyog Ratna award by the Governor.  


CEO of Serum Institute of India Adar Poonawalla was given the 'Udyog Mitra' award. The 'Udyogini Award' for women entrepreneurs was given to Gauri Kirloskar, Director of the Kirloskar Group.  The 'Outstanding Marathi Entrepreneur' award was given to Vilas Shinde, Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms.


The 'Udyog Rozgar Mitra' (U R Mitra) initiative was launched on the occasion.
