Starting April 1, 2024, commuters using the Rajiv Gandhi Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai will need to pay more. This is because the toll rates are set to increase by about 18%.

The revised toll rates for cars and jeeps will be INR 100 for a one-way trip. For minibuses, tempos, and similar vehicles, the toll will be INR 160. Two-axle trucks will be charged INR 210 for a one-way journey. In contrast, cars and jeeps currently pay INR 85, minibuses pay INR 130, and trucks and buses pay INR 175.

The new rates, announced by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), will be effective from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027.

The sea link connects Worli in Island City and Bandra in Mumbai's Western Suburban district. It is a daily route for many drivers. It helps them avoid traffic congestion in areas like Mahim, Dadar, Prabhadevi, and Worli.

MSRDC has also announced discounts for drivers who buy toll coupons in bulk. A 10% discount will be given on booklets containing 50 toll coupons and a 20% discount on booklets with 100 toll coupons.

Frequent passengers will receive rates for return journey passes and daily passes. They will be valid until midnight and will be 1.5 to 2.5 times their respective one-way toll charges.

The government plans to connect the bridge with two coastal roads currently under development: the Marine Drive-Worli coastal road and the Bandra-Versova coastal road. After both coastal roads are connected, traffic on the coastal roads will increase.

Moreover, the first section of the coastal road project, spanning 10.5 km between Worli and Marine Drive, has been inaugurated by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This section is currently free of charge.
