In a mishap, a homoeopathic doctor died on Wednesday night in Thane after her bike plunged over a pothole. The 23-year-old fell from her bike and was crushed by a container truck which was coming from behind.

The incident occurred in Dugadphata and the deceased was identified as Neha Alamgir Shaikh. She was riding on her brother's (Shadaf Shaikh) bike who suffered minor injuries.

Neha, a practising homoeopathic doctor, was going to get married on November 7. The incident happened while they were returning home after shopping for the wedding.

After the incident, people living in the area also opposed the administration about the pothole issue. The locals blocked the Wada-Bhiwandi national highway.
