Nearly, 23 students of Mumbai’s civic-run hospital, King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital, have tested positive for coronavirus, stated reports. Accounts claim that they had received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. They yet tested positive for the virus. It was on Thursday, that Kishori Pednekar, the Mumbai Mayor made these statements, highlighted narratives.

There still persists an air of uncertainty, however, in regards to how these students tested positive.

Pedenekar elaborated that all the 23 students were inoculated with at least the first jab. Whilst some students have mild symptoms, it is possible that the virus may have spread owing to a culture or sports conducted in the college.

Some narratives claim that nearly two patients have been admitted to Mumbai’s Seven Hills Hospital, the others, have been asked to quarantine.

Additionally, the mayor is said to have conversed with ANI wherein she mentioned that these students were under the MBBS branch and have received at least the first jab.

A developing narrative, further details are awaited.

This news comes in the backdrop of a building in Mumbai’s Khar being sealed because seven people tested positive for coronavirus, even though they were fully vaccinated, claim accounts. These people are from two families and their testing positive, prompted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to seal the building.
