Mumbai was engulfed by rainfall on July 23, Wednesday as the city witnessed heavy showers since morning. After which, the citizens faced issues caused by waterlogging along with low visibility at certain places. Owing to low visibility, three cars crashed into each other resulting in an accident that left eight passengers injured.

The eight passengers faced grave injuries after the cars rammed into each other at Andheri flyover. On the other hand, several parts of Mumbai were left waterlogged due to heavy rainfall throughout the city.

However, as the day progressed, the intensity of the rain lowered and the civic bodies began draining water from the waterlogged areas. The weather department had issued a forecast of heavy rainfall and had warned people to remain safe.

While the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had taken measures to ensure the citizens' safety, people had to face trouble while commuting to their offices.

Meanwhile, by 5:30 am, Colaba had recorded 171 mm of rainfall whereas Santacruz had recorded 58 mm of rainfall. As per the weather forecast, there are chances of heavy rainfall for the next few hours.

On the other hand, the local train services were hit by the rainfall after the railway tracks at Sion railway station were submerged in water.
