4 Earthquake Tremors in Palghar Within 12 Minutes

The tremors were of magnitude 3.8 and were experienced in the areas of Dahanu and Boisar between 1:03 am to 1:15 am.

4 earthquake tremors were experienced again in Maharashtra's Palghar district on July 25 between 1:03 am to 1:15 am. The tremors were experienced in Dahanu and Boisar and the magnitude was 3.8, followed by 3.6, 2.9 and 2.8. 

The entire region has been experiencing tremors since November 2018 and most of them are near Dudhalwadi village. Awareness programmes have been repeatedly held to inform people about what to do in cases of emergency.

According to the data collected so far, it has been observed that the tremors felt at Palghar are 'earthquake swarms' which are low-intensity earthquake without a main shock and usually occur at areas which are active geothermal. 

Further,  The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) under the Ministry of Earth Sciences and the CSIR laboratory National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad, have set up 5 stations with seismometers in Dahanu and Talasari to identify the source of the earthquakes and understand their cause.
