'Operation Kaveri' has been launched by the Ministry of External Affairs to rescue Indians trapped in the civil war in Sudan. Under this campaign, the 20th batch of 328 Indian citizens returned to India at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport by a special army aircraft at 12 noon. This includes 34 citizens of Maharashtra.


The citizens brought back from Sudan will be sent home safely through the support room set up by the state government's Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi. For this purpose, Maharashtra Sadan's cooperation room has been started on Wednesday at Indira Gandhi International Airport under the leadership of Resident Commissioner Neeva Jain, in-charge of Maharashtra Sadan. House's Additional Resident Commissioner Dr. Rajesh Adapwar is looking after the cell and coordinating with the central government.

Coordination work is being done through the cell to take the citizens of Maharashtra entering Delhi from their home in the state to their nearest destination as per requirement. Arrangements have also been made to take the citizens to Maharashtra Sadan through a room set up at the airport. Arrangements for the stay and food of these citizens have been arranged at Maharashtra Sadan.


The Ministry of External Affairs has directed the offices of the Resident Commissioners of various states in Delhi to set up help desks for the safe arrival of nationals of various states of India returning to Delhi from Sudan to their respective states. Accordingly, help rooms of Maharashtra and other states have been set up at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
