A 39-year-old Mumbai man died after he suffered from an electric shock and fell into a 25-feet-deep open drain in Malad on Wednesday night, November 13.

The police officials said that the deceased has been identified as Kamlesh Chandrakant Shitab.

The incident took place around 11 pm near Parekh Nagar Garden situated along Triveni Nagar road in Malad East, according to preliminary information by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

As per reports, after being rescued from the drain, the man was rushed to the civic-run Shatabdi hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’ on arrival.

Meanwhile, in another incident on Wednesday night, November 13, a 60-year-old man, identified as Nafir Sayyad, sustained burn injuries in Central Mumbai following a fire outbreak in MHADA Colony, Chembur. The fire was reported at 10.47 pm at building number 6 of the colony. Sayyad sustained 30 per cent burn injuries to his hands, face and neck in the blaze that was confined to the kitchen in the ground floor of the seven-storey building.
