Jagruti Nagar station in Metro recently launched rental cycle services. On the first day of its inception, 45 people rented cycles at the station. MYBYK and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) have collaborated together for this initiative wherein the GPS enabled bicycles are available on rent at a reasonable price of ₹2 per hour. The ones who are interested can hire the cycles using MYBYK App. The self-guided app help commuters for unlocking the bicycles using GPRS to avail the service.

The project was started on a pilot basis at Jagruti Nagar station and 50 cycles were available at the stand. Soon, MMRDA and MYBYK will start the services at 11 stations of Metro 1 (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar). Founder of MYBYK Arjit Soni stated that apart from the existing Metro 1 authority they also received calls from railways and other upcoming metro project authorities expressing their interest in this concept.

This initiative will not only help reduce pollution but will also encourage a healthy lifestyle. Founder Arjit Soni had tweeted stating that it has been 10 years since he had got this idea and is really glad that it is being started in his hometown. Another Twitterati Suresh Bhhatachary stated that it's a great move by MMRDA in promoting bicycle ride for daily commuters in Mumbai.

Recently, Metro 1 had also announced that students appearing for their board examination can avail Metro train services without standing in the queue for tickets. Students can get their tickets just by showing their hall tickets on the Metro station help desk. The HSC Board examination has already started and the SSC Board exams will commence from March 3.
