The water supply of Mumbai city and its western suburbs will be reduced by 5 per cent on Wednesday as there will be a solar energy project undertaken at Bhandup.

Mumbai’s Municipal Corporation water to its citizens through various water purification processes and plants. A 2.5 Mega Watt Vertical Solar Energy Project is under construction at one of these water purification plants at Bhandup Complex.

Under this project, the expansion 3.3 KV old pumping station and installation of two Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) will be constructed on March 28, Wednesday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Water Engineer Dinesh Chandra informed that water supply from Bandra to Dahisar will be reduced by 5 per cent along with some portion of the Western suburbs of Mumbai.

The portion of the city to be affected: Colaba to Mahim and Dharavi.
Westerns Suburbs to be affected: Bandra to Dahisar.
