
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration has emphasized on cementing the roads of Mumbai for a pothole-free city with 90 days to go before the onset of monsoon.
Nearly 77 percent of the tasks set under cement concreting phase 1 have been completed. Also, 52 percent of the tasks under phase 2 have been completed. With this, a total of 63 percent of the tasks have been successfully completed. Road-wise micro-planning should be done while carrying out cement concreting work on the following roads.
BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani has given clear instructions that the road undertaken and the excavated road should be completed within the stipulated time frame and before rainy season resumes.
Gagrani has given instructions that while carrying out concreting work, people's representatives should be interacted with, given detailed information to them, and their responses should be obtained.
An ambitious cement concreting project is being implemented to improve the quality of Mumbai's infrastructure. Concreting works are underway in the city and suburban areas under Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani gave these instructions after reviewing these works. Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Deputy Commissioner Girish Nikam, Chief Engineer Mantayya Swamy and other concerned engineers were present.

Under Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Municipal Corporation's ambitious road cement concreting project, a total of 1594 roads with a total length of 430.69 kilometers have been completed as of February 10.
It is mandatory for engineers to be physically present at the work site while the implementation of concrete roads is underway.
Assistant engineers have responded that the concreting work is becoming more quality due to the guidance provided by experts from the Indian Institute of Technology.
There is a period of 90 days before the end of the current session. Sanjay Bangar mentioned that if these 90 days are meticulously planned, the important stage of the concreting project can be reached before the monsoon.
