A seven-year-old girl died after getting entangled in a rope while playing with her siblings at home in Shivaji Nagar area of Govandi on Sunday. In this regard Shivaji Nagar Police has registered the incident and started investigation.


Akriti Singh was playing hide-and-seek with her siblings and a neighbour girl in Bangwadi around 12 noon on Sunday. At that time other members of the house had gone out. So there were four children in the house. At the same time, the noose of the ladder rope used to descend from the attic got stuck in the girl's neck. Her elder sister immediately ran out of the house and told the neighbours about the incident. Neighbours took her down and admitted her to a private hospital in the area. But she died before the treatment.

As soon as Shivaji Nagar police got information about the incident, they rushed to the girl's house and started investigation. It has been revealed that the girl died due to hanging. Accordingly, the police have registered a case of accidental death and started an investigation.
