Mumbai's Guardian Minister Aaditya Thackeray, on September 29, 2020, directed the local administration to resume various development works in Malad East and the Dindoshi constituency. As per reports, the minister has asked the officials to take this on priority, in coordination with MMRDA, SRA, Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Forest Department and coordination.

The decision was taken in a meeting held with MLA Sunil Prabhu, Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Suresh Kakani, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA Dr. K. H. Govindraj, Principal Secretary, Forest Department Milind Mhaiskar and senior officers of various departments.

Projects which will be focused in this phase of development include the Kurar Village in Malad East, Rani Sati Marg at Humera Park, the road connecting Mallika Hotel to Dindoshi Bus Depot, West Express Highway (WEH) to Malad Railway Station to Appada, and others. Further, officials have been asked to focus on the development and relocation of the residents if necessary in the next phase.

The department has also planned a subway near Sanjay Gandhi National Park, road widening near the Kurar Nullah, and a road development plan at Sanskar College. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sanctioned funds for the development of Goregaon-Mulund Link Road at Goregaon East.

Addressing the same, Aditya Thackeray said that all the pending work in this area should be completed expeditiously and within the stipulated time set for the development of each project. Another meeting will be held soon to understand the progress and information will be released later.

Meanwhile, officials from the MMRDA, SRA, BMC, and Forest Department have been asked to focus on these projects in their respective areas, thereby assisting the residents for rehabilitation if needed during the work on various roads. Departments have been asked to consider avoiding traffic jams.
