Central Railways (CR) has continued its relentless efforts towards achieving “Zero Scrap Mission” to make all stations, sections, installations, depots, workshops, sheds, workplace covering all railway locations/Divisions scrap free.

During the current year from April to August 2022, Central Railway registered a revenue of INR 175.98 crores from sale of scrap which is 28% more when compared to the revenue of INR 137.48 crores achieved during the corresponding period of last year i.e. April to August 2021.

The scarp sale revenue of INR 175.98 Crores generated by Central Railway is the highest ever revenue generated from sale of scrap for April to August  period in any year. 

Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway said that the disposal of scrap has not o­nly helped in generating revenue but also to keep the premises clean and environment friendly. He also said that Central Railway will work in a mission mode to sell all the identified scrap material at various locations in railways.

Meanwhile, Railways have decided to attach two additional AC-3 Tier Economy coaches to following trains from the dates mentioned against each.

Train No.16331 Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram Express with effect from 18.09.2022
Train No.16332 Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai Express with effect from 17.09.2022
Train No.16381 Pune-Kanniyakumari Express with effect from 23.09.2022
Train No.16382 Kanniyakumari-Pune Express with effect from 22.09.2022

Revised composition of Train No.16331/16332: Two AC-2 Tier, Three AC-3 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier Economy, 6 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class including o­ne Guard's Brake Van, o­ne Generator Van.

Revised composition of Train No16381/16382: o­ne AC-2 Tier, 5 AC-3 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier Economy, 6 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class including o­ne Guard's Brake Van, o­ne Generator Van and o­ne Pantry Car

Reservation: Bookings for AC-3 Tier Economy coaches in Trains No.16331 and 16381 will open o­n 4.9.2022 at all computerised reservation centres and o­n website www.irctc.co.in.
