According to sources, earlier on Tuesday, July 6, severe action was taken against unauthorized constructions in the Ghansoli division of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) area.

The construction of RCC Jyotya was started unofficially at Jijamata Nagar, Ghansoli village in Ghansoli division without any prior permission from the civic body of Navi Mumbai. As a result, a notice under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional Planning and Town Planning Act, 1966 was issued by the Ghansoli Divisional Office against this unauthorized construction. According to the notice, all unauthorized constructions by the concerned had to be removed automatically.

However, the unauthorized construction was not demolished due to which the construction was finally demolished by the Ghansoli department. Moreover, officers/staff of the Ghansoli division, 11 labourers, 3 breakers, 1 gas cutter and a police squad from the encroachment department were deployed for this operation.

Meanwhile, the NMMC has intensified the work of taking action against unauthorized constructions in several localities. As per reports, the officials have cracked down on unauthorized constructions in Airoli and Ghansoli areas in a week, and it is being said that another unauthorized construction project in Belapur was demolished on Thursday, July 1, 2201.

Information shared by the officials reveals that Laxman Tukaram Bhoir and Satyawan Savlaram Mhatre from Sector 20 in Belapur village started the construction work without receiving prior permission from the Municipal Corporation. A notice under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional Planning and Town Planning Act, 1966 was issued by the Belapur division asking them to stop the work, however, they continued the construction at the location forcing the officials to take necessary action.
