Like every year, this year also due to less rainfall in the month of June, the water storage in the dam is reaching the bottom day by day. As the Chikhloli dam, which supplies water to Ambernath city, has reached its bottom, water will be supplied to Ambernath residents every alternate day from Wednesday, June 19. Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran announced the decision in this regard on Tuesday.

Six million litres of water is supplied daily from the Chikhloli Dam to about one lakh people in Ambernath. While a large part of Ambernath is supplied with water from the barrage dam at Badlapur and the Barvi dam. On the other hand, in Badlapur city also, water supply was affected on Wednesday as the water channel at Hendrepada started leaking on Tuesday. The Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran has informed that there will be low pressure water supply in some areas on Thursday as well. Meanwhile, the water storage in Barvi Dam, which supplies water to most of the cities in Thane district, has gone down to 25 percent. Chikhloli dam, which supplies water to Ambernath city, has also reached the bottom. Therefore, on Tuesday, the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran which oversees the water management of Ambernath city, announced the decision to supply water to the areas where water is supplied from Chikhloli Dam every other day.
