Every Mumbaikar is fed up with the potholes across the city and one of them, Navin Lade, the general secretary of the employment wing of the Republican Party of Indian (RPI) has applied to both Guinness World records and Limca Book of Records for having the most number of potholes on the streets. Lade came up with this idea after reading a news report which stated that the city roads were filled with over 20,000 potholes!

Meanwhile, on Monday, the government informed the Parliament that more than 9,300 people died and approximately 25,000 were injured in road accidents due to potholes across India. The information was released by Mansukh L Mandaviya, the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways who was responding to a question by MP Husain Dalwai.
