Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan has taken a strategic decision to complete the very important road connecting the roads of Thane and Palghar districts. This important decision has brought great relief to rural transporters and heavy vehicles of Thane and Palghar districts.

Due to industrialisation and urban settlement along this road as well as lack of maintenance and repairs by the concerned contractor, the poor condition of the road cannot be maintained by tarring or repairing, hence Minister Chavan has taken the initiative and a sanctioned fund of INR 1 thousand 42 crore has been approved.

The total length of 64.32 km four lane road from Manor to Wada (State Route 34) and Wada to Bhiwandi (State Route 35) in Palghar district, cement concreting between urban settlements, pucca drains and sewage drainage system is being administered as a special subject. All these tasks have been approved. Due to the special efforts of Minister Ravindra Chavan, the work on this highway, which was stalled for the last few years, has finally started.

Under privatisation, necessary maintenance and repair of the road and road improvement work were not completed. The road was badly damaged and unsafe for traffic and several accidents occurred on the road. Therefore, as per the terms of the contract, the road tax collection has been stopped by terminating the contract in 2019.
