More than 80 thousand Asha volunteers are working under the public health system in the state. Asha Swayamsevak will get a salary hike of INR 7,000, 3,664 group promoters will get a salary hike of INR 6,200, Asha and group promoters will get a Diwali bonus of INR 2,000 each, Dr. Tanaji Sawant said in a meeting organised with Asha Swayamsevaks, representatives of organisations at Arogya Bhavan today.


Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Milind Mhaiskar, Health Services Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar, Joint Director Subhash Borkar along with senior officials of Health Department were present in the meeting. Asha Yojana has been implemented since 2007 under the National Health Mission in the state. Currently 80 thousand Asha volunteers are working in the state. Earlier Asha Sevak was paid 5 thousand rupees.

Health Minister Dr Sawant has announced an increase in remuneration by INR 7 thousand. ASHA volunteers are also paid INR 3,000 from the central government level. Therefore, after the announcement of the Health Minister, Asha Sevak will now get a combined remuneration of INR 15,000. There are 3,664 group promoters working in the state. Earlier, group promoters were paid INR 6,200. Health Minister Prof. Dr. Sawant has announced a salary increase of INR 6,200 today.


Group promoters get a remuneration of INR 8,775 from the central government level, now they will get a total remuneration of INR 21,175. In this meeting, the Health Minister has announced that Asha volunteers and group promoters will be given a Diwali gift of INR 2,000.
