The discovery of a baby crocodile in this swimming pool has created a sensation. There is a private zoo museum next to this swimming pool of BMC and it is believed that the crocodile came into the swimming pool from the nearby museum. A snake was also found in July

This is not the first time that animals have been found in the Mahatma Gandhi swimming pool. Two snakes were found in two consecutive months in June and July. After this, there was an atmosphere of fear among the members who came here for swimming. During this time it was speculated that these snakes could be from the zoo built in the nearby premises.

Therefore the members of the swimming pool demanded that if there is no favourable environment for snakes to live here, if these snakes are escaping from the neighbouring zoo and if the concerned zoo cannot take care of them, then the swimming pool should be closed. However, later no action was taken on this.
