The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is yet to attend the problems of Vile Parle residents, who complained to clean the nullah flowing adjacent to SVP park in the K-West Ward.
Owing to garbage accumulated in the nullah, a strong stench is causing fear among the residents of Chandan Society in Vile Parle (West).
In a letter to the civic body, the citizens have mentioned that they are also afraid of such unhygienic condition leading to contagious diseases amid the ongoing pandemic induced due to COVID-19.
The municipal corporation was also informed on Twitter to dispose of this stale waste and eliminate the stench in the area as soon as possible; however, their complaint has been overlooked.
On January 28, taking it to Twitter, a resident shared the picture and addressed the issue to the BMC saying: “The current state of Nala flowing adjacent to beautiful garden (SVP park) at KWest ward No. 70. Kindly maintain cleanliness of nala like you do for the garden, let’s keep the city clean!” (sic)
Though the civic body was quick to response the tweet stating, “Thank you for sharing to us. We have informed to SWD department to attend this earliest.”
Later, the netizen also addressed this issue to SWD department, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, BJP leaders Ashish Shelar and Devendra Fadnavis. Despite this, the issue has not been resolved, says the resident of Vile Parle.
