The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced the launch of a new air-conditioned bus service on Route No. A-84, commencing on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

It will connect Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Chowk (Museum) to Oshiwara Depot via the recently opened Swarajyarakshak Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Sagari Kinara Marg (Coastal Road).

An official stated that the new route is part of BEST’s ongoing initiative to modernise its fleet by gradually adding new AC buses, many of which have already been introduced into service. It is also designed to improve commuter comfort and reduce travel time by connecting key areas of South and Western Mumbai via coastal road.

Route:

The route aims to provide a convenient and efficient travel option for both daily commuters and occasional travellers.

The buses will cover all the important bus stops and pass through Churchgate Station (Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk), Worli Sea Face, Worli Depot, Mahim, Khar Station Road (W), Santacruz Depot, Vile Parle, Andheri Station (W), Shivaji Park, Oshiwara Bridge, and Oshiwara Depot.

Timings:

From Oshiwara Bus Depot, the first bus will depart at 7:15 AM and the last bus will leave at 5:20 PM. In the reverse direction, from Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk (Museum), the first bus will depart at 8:50 AM, with the last bus at 7:15 PM.

Buses on this route will operate at regular intervals of approximately 40 to 45 minutes throughout the day, ensuring consistent availability and minimal waiting times for passengers.

Fare:

The fare structure has been fixed at a minimum of Rs 12 and a maximum of Rs 50. The A-84 service is part of BEST’s phased expansion of its AC bus fleet, aimed at providing passengers with enhanced comfort and connectivity across Mumbai.

Moreover, the undertaking has appealed to commuters to make use of the new service for a convenient and affordable travel experience.

It is pertinent to note that the entire stretch of Dharmaveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Road, popularly known as Mumbai Coastal Road, has been opened 24/7 for all kinds of four-wheelers and buses from August 16 morning.
