Praja Foundation report ranks Congress corporators in BMC at top for "efficient work"

The Praja Foundation carried out a report card examining the work of corporators in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The annual performance report card states that Congress corporators have worked more efficiently as compared to the Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators.

In the report, Congress corporators have received 61.96 per cent for their performance, Shiv Sena corporators stand on 61.61 per cent while BJP corporators have 59.54 per cent. However, of the 244 corporators, top three corporators belong to Shiv Sena. 

The scores or percentage given to the corporators in the report depends on raising and debating the citizen issues in the general body meetings. Dahisar corporator Sujata Patekar stood at the first position with 82.30 per cent, Kishori Padnekar was ranked second with 81.25 per cent and Sejal Desai came third with 77.33 per cent score.

The corporators with poor performance include All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator Gulnaz Mohammad Salim Qureshi with a score of 30.60 per cent while Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator Manisha Harish Chandra Rahate and Congress corporator Supriya Sunil More.
