BMC officers’ foreign tour clipped

Mumbai – The municipal commissioner has applied breaks on the frequent foreign tours of the civic officers in the name of study tours. Now, such officers will have to take the prior permission of additional municipal commissioner for their foreign tours and that too it must have mentioned in the tender conditions for the said project.

Many foreign institutes and companies participate in the tendering processes for big civic projects. This may result in a study tour of the concerned companies existing projects in foreign countries. 

The civic officials may require to visit those plants to understand its functioning and quality. In that case, the tendering process should have the mention of foreign tour if required. Earlier, such conditions used to be included in tenders for big projects. Now, some modifications have been made in the terms and conditions. As per new notification, it is being mentioned not to include the foreign tour condition in the tendering process.
