To ensure a smooth and safe farewell to Lord Ganesha, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made extensive preparations across mumbai city and suburbs for the Ganpati Visarjan 2025 on Anant Chaturdashi, which will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
The civic body said that it will deploy nearly 10,000 officials and staff, along with ambulances, lifeguards, floodlights, cranes, and control rooms to assist devotees.
Safety and health advisories:
- Avoid deep water immersion; trained staff is available to assist.
- Be cautious during high tide and low tide timings.
- Watch out for jellyfish and marine stings; first-aid teams are present at beaches.
- Do not spread or believe in rumours during the celebrations.
- Parents are advised to closely supervise children near water bodies.
High tide timings on September 6:
- 11:09 am - 4.20 metres
- 11:17 pm - 3.87 metres
Low tide timings:
- 5:13 pm - 1.41 metres
Low tide timings on September 7:
- 5:06 am, the next day (September 7) - 0.69 metres
- 11:40 am, on September 7- 4.42 metres
Moreover, the BMC has set up 70 natural immersion spots and around 290 artificial ponds across Mumbai.
In South Mumbai, devotees will find immersion facilities at landmark spots such as Gateway of India, Badhwar Park, Jamshedji Bandar, Cooperage Garden, Girgaon Chowpatty and Banganga Tank, among others.
Moving to Central Mumbai, arrangements have been made at Veer Sambhaji Maidan in Dongri, Janabai Rokde Municipal School in Mazjid, Mumba Devi Udyan, Na. M. Joshi School in Byculla, and Veer Jijamata Bhosale Udyan. Larger grounds including August Kranti Maidan, Tardeo Police Quarters and BIT Building at Mumbai Central are also on the list.
In the Western suburbs, artificial ponds have been set up at Lokhandwala, Andheri Sports Complex, Jogeshwari’s Ravji Maidan, Juhu Chowpatty, Santacruz’s Bapista Garden, and Powai’s Sambhaji Maharaj Maidan. Goregaon and Malad will host several sites such as Aarey Bhaskar Ground, Pandurangwadi Lake, Malad Marve Beach and multiple school grounds.
Further north, in Borivali and Dahisar, ponds have been created at Charkop, Kandivali Gaothan, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Rajda Municipal School Ground, General Arunkumar Vaidya Ground, Naytodi Ground and Dahisar’s Pandurang Shastri Athawale Maidan.

Additionally, there will be adequate police deployment at immersion sites and artificial lakes locations, with special security arrangements at Girgaon Chowpatty in South Mumbai.
