The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in order to ensure that quality work is being undertaken in road repair and at construction contracts have decided to ask contractors to install CCTV at project sites, stated reports. Officials from the Roads and Traffic Department have been quoted in accounts elaborating on how the CCTV's feed will be shared with the BMC officials in real-time. 

According to narratives, an official from the BMC elucidated how the CCTV will assist civic officials to keep a watchful eye on the underway road repair and construction works. Apart from this, they will also keep track of the work quality. The road department engineers will be able to directly access the CCTV feed. 

It has been reported that the civic authority maintains a nearly 2,000 km road network in the city. Based on accounts, a meeting was recently conducted by the BMC administrator, Iqbal Singh Chahal to appoint a Quality Management Agency to monitor road works

For this, eight agencies were finalized and these agencies will be appointed for two years, claimed reports. So far, in accordance with accounts, the BMC has concretized nearly 1,000 km of roads in Mumbai. However, the repair works of nearly 200 km are underway.
