The posts of Assistant Law Officer and Assistant Law Officer (Class 2) in the Legal Department of the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai will be filled on direct service basis. Applications are open from Tuesday, July 25 for a total of 53 posts. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Legal Department has started the recruitment process for the post of Assistant Law Officer. It has 34 vacancies for the post of Assistant Law Officer, whereas 19 vacancies are to be filled for Assistant Law Officer Category 2.
The appointment of these posts will be temporary pending the final decision of the special petition filed by the Municipal Corporation against the Bar Council of India in the Supreme Court for permission to practise municipal council. If the order of the Supreme Court goes against the Municipal Corporation, it will be binding on the selected candidates and their service will be terminated without assigning any reason, the Corporation has also clarified.
